GPSMycity Guides

Here at Travel Kat HQ there is some exciting news to share!

Over the last few months, GPSMycity approached me offering a free membership to their app. I feel this is a great collaboration because it takes my articles and transforms them into easy-to-follow routes that you can use offline whilst on the go.

If you haven’t heard of GPSMycity - their app has an extensive collection of travel articles, guides and self guided walks across 1,500 cities around the world.
From Monday 9th March (2026) four of my blogs will be on GPSMycity’s portal allowing more people across the world to read them.

As a keen traveller, whether that is with my spouse or on my own solo travel adventures, the app allows you to fully immerse yourself into a new destination.

The benefits of travel apps:

  • I feel that the big draw is that the maps and articles can be used offline. We have all been there, we arrive at a  new destination with limited wifi connection or costly tariffs (yeah I’m talking about you Vodafone).

  • If you are venturing out solo and do not want to dive into a group tour that’s the size of a  small army, then this app can help you explore an area at your own pace.
I would consider myself to be an introvert and find this app great if you still want to learn and experience a new destination but want to avoid the chit chat of folks.

  • The app encourages slow travel, through the app you learn new discoveries through provoking (Fire of London tour) and allows you to slow down and really appreciate your surroundings. Take their guided tour, marvel at viewpoints and of course take lots of photos.

  • The app has everything in one place - the map, the route and stops and all of the articles are conveniently in one application.

  • It is great value, all of these insider information articles are low cost. They are written by real travellers, no AI slop here. The beauty here is you might come across some great hidden gems and get off the beaten path.

During this promotional period, you can download and fully upgrade these guides at no extra cost. If you are heading on a trip over this year's Easter Break then consider downloading GPSMycity.

In order to get these for free, you will first need to download the GPSmyCity app. It’s available in both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

You will then be able to click on the links above and choose the “Upgrade” option so you can download the GPS version of the travel article.

These four articles will be free for the next two weeks and I highly suggest you take advantage of this cool app.

Over Valentine's weekend, I was in London for a long weekend.

London itself is very overwhelming, however their app helps you never to get lost again. Across the weekend, I delved into their app to use their self guided walks and articles.

In the city of London they have self guided 16 walking routes and a plethora of helpful travel tips and guides.

  • Neighbourhood guides, lesser known ones such as Hampstead, Brixton and Little Venice

  • Free things to do in London (I won’t lie, London isn’t the most budget friendly city in the world).

  • The Haunted and Creepy Guide to London, if like me and you are also drawn to the dark side of history then this is the guide for you. I have covered the best haunted and historically accurate activities you can do.

Thanks for reading and supporting my content,

Kat
